Fans on Reddit, threw in the names of the best players who have not won a major in Tennis
Players bring out their best game at Grand Slam tournaments where the world watches the greatest players the sport has to offer. The celebrations are surreal when a player progresses from one round to another, especially at the business end of competitions.
There are only four Grand Slam tournaments played during the course of a tennis season. However, throughout the year, a number of ATP and WTA tournaments take place as players jostle for ranking points to give them direct entry to Grand Slam events.
The players who perform well in the ATP and WTA tournaments, become frontrunners to win Grand Slam. The weight of expectations, however, sometimes gets the better of them as we have seen frequently that some of the finest players on the tour do not play according to their potential at Grand Slam. There are plenty of other reasons as well.
Even the young Carlos Alcaraz had to face criticism from a section of fans for not being able to showcase his class at major events. That all changed at the 2022 US Open when the 19-year-old won his first major by defeating Norway’s Casper Ruud.
Tennis fans on Reddit discussed some names of players who have truckloads of talent but have not won a Grand Slam title.
