The Italian Open is already rolling with the qualifiers taking place since May 2, to determine the players who will compete with the seeded players for the event in the main draw. Italian Open live streaming will be available on ATP tour official website, Tennis TV and Discovery+ App. The tournament will be telecast live on television on beIN sports in Australia, Tennis channel in the U.S.A. Viewers in the United Kingdom can watch it on Amazon Prime while Indian viewers can stream it live on Voot.
For 2022 the total ATP prize money on offer at the Italian Open in Rome is €4,332,325 which is up 107.99% versus the 2021 edition which was played behind closed doors. The winner on the men’s side will take home €568,475 which is an increase of 131.95% compared to what Rafael Nadal received last year when he won his 10th Italian Open title. The runner-up will receive €315,110, a significant 117.32% pay rise compared to 2021.
The middle rounds see similar increases with players who make the last 16 receiving a cheque for €61,250, a rise of 117.20%. Qualifying losers also see a healthy increase with Q1 and Q2 losers receiving €5,745 (+76.77%) and €10,980(+80.0%) respectively.
In the WTA category (the women’s draw), the total prize pool is – a decrease of 6.77% vs 2020.The women’s champion will receive €178,630, down 12.94% compared to what Simona Halep picked up last year. Those drops are similar across the entire main draw, with first-round losers being the least affected, receiving €8,670 which is only €330 (3.37%) less than last year.
