Jennifer Brady goes into fan-girl mode after learning Hsieh Su-wei is posting about her

Hsieh Su-wei has been following Jennifer Brady throughout the Australian Open tournament

American tennis sensation Jennifer Brady has been the fairy-tale story of this the 2021 Australian Open women’s tournament.

She has defied the odds to enter her 1st Grand Slam singles final in her career. It has not been an easy road, but Brady has overcome all obstacles put in front of her and deservingly made her way to the final.

She also made one very high-profile fan on the way. Taiwanese tennis star Hsieh Su-wei has been following her closely.

Su-wei is even posting about her on her Instagram account. Most notably, she shared a post about her when Brady prevailed in her quarter-final encounter against Jessica Pegula.

After her win, she sat in front of the cameras (h/t Australian Open TV) and was asked by an interviewer what she thought about Su-wei’s posts regarding her on Instagram.

Brady instantly started gleaming with joy and expressed her happiness before the interviewer could properly finish asking her question.

She mentioned how she is a fan of the 35-year-old and that it is an honour for her that the Taiwanese was following her progress.

“What an honour. You just made my! Can’t wait to see it. I’m speechless. Su-wei, I’m honoured. I love Su-wei. She’s awesome, I mean, her personality is very strange. She is a character.

“I think more people should watch the sport because of Su-wei. The way she plays tennis is something you’ve never seen before. I’ve played her several times and it’s a pain in the a**.

The two even interacted on the photo that Su-wei posted of her.

Brady went on to beat Karolina Muchova in the semi-final. The #25 seed beat her Czech opponent 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 to make her first-ever grand slam singles final.

She will face Naomi Osaka in the final. The Japanese beat Serena Williams in her semi-final and is the favourite to lift the trophy.
