US Tennis star Jennifer Brady is set to make a return to her home Grand Slam after a gap of two years – she hosted a fun AMA session on Reddit

After spending nearly two years on the sidelines due to a foot injury and a surgically treated knee issue, Jennifer Brady, a former world No.13 and finalist at the Australian Open, has made her comeback on the WTA tour.

Three years after her memorable semi-final match against Naomi Osaka at the US Open, Brady is now returning to her home Grand Slam event with a fresh outlook and a greater sense of gratitude for the sport. The US tennis star took to Reddit to participate in a fun ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with her fans.

The session was quite engaging as questions poured in from fans, with Brady answering as many as possible. Brady was asked about her choice for the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ in tennis. Immediately, she mentioned Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic as her picks, without any delay. During the same conversation, she was also asked which retired player she would want to compete against during their prime years, and her response was Serena Williams once again. Brady emphasized Serena’s commanding playing style on the tennis court and expressed her curiosity to experience playing against her.

Jennifer Brady’s professional journey appears to be making a positive turn after a period of almost two years during which she had to step away. Following her retirement at the 2021 Cincinnati Open due to injuries, the American tennis player faced a recovery phase and made her comeback to the pro circuit in July. Having been sidelined due to a fracture in her right knee and a tear in her left foot, the former 13th-ranked player in the world seems to be overcoming these setbacks.

Brady made a triumphant return to the WTA Tour by securing a victory against a player ranked in the top 30. At the 2023 Citi Open, the American faced off against Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine in the first round and emerged victorious with a score of 6-2, 6-1. Continuing her comeback, she secured another notable win in her subsequent tournament, the Canadian Open. In this case, she defeated Jelena Ostapenko, a top 20 player, with a score of 7-6(7), 0-6, 7-6(8). As she readies herself for the upcoming US Open, Brady, holding a current world ranking of 368, is preparing to return to Grand Slam action. She gained entry into the main draw via her protected ranking of World No. 14. Notably, in her previous appearance at Flushing Meadows in 2020, she reached the semifinals but was ultimately defeated by Naomi Osaka.
