Ilya Ivashka is set to face second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Round of 16 at the Mallorca Open
Stefanos Tsitsipas’ form coming into the match
Stefanos Tsitsipas has not started his grass-court season in an ideal fashion. The Greek lost in the quarter-final of the Stuttgart Open to Andy Murray and then suffered a shock Round of exit after losing to Nick Kyrgios at the Halle Open.
Tsitsipas has had a good year so far and would like to get things back on track and make a mark at the Wimbledon. Earlier this year, the Greek ace successfully defended his Monte-Carlo Masters title against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He won two sets 6-3, 7-6, to capture his second ATP Masters 1000 title. Tsitsipas is presently ranked World No.6 and has never gone beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon. He will be looking to better his record this year and go all the way.
Ilya Ivashka’s form coming into the match
Ilya Ivashka has been in decent touch coming into this match. In his previous round, Ivashka defeated Emil Ruusuvori in straight sets 6-4, 6-1. Earlier in the Halle Open, the Belarusian ace made it to the Round of 16 before losing to Daniil Medvedev. Unfortunately, though, Ivashka is not eligible to play at the Wimbledon next week due to the All England Club’s decision to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from the tournament.
Irrespective of that, Ivashka would be looking to make a mark on the global and will certainly aim to cause a major upset over Tsitsipas.
