Martina Navratilova is one of the best female tennis players of all time. She is also quite active on Twitter and she recently reacted to the NBA’s decision not to have games on Election Day this year.
All 435 U.S. House seats will be up for grabs on November 8, along with more than 30 U.S. Senate seats and gubernatorial races.
ESPN shared a tweet regarding the NBA’s decision of not having matches on Election Day to encourage the public to vote during midterm elections. The legendary Martina Navratilova quote retweeted the tweet and gave a couple of “thumbs-up” emojis in the caption to show her approval.
All the 30 teams will be in action on the day before Election Day. Teams are being encouraged to share information regarding elections with the fans.
The 30 teams will have matches on November 7, the night prior to the midterm elections. The NBA is hoping to urge the fans to go out and vote and also to intensify the necessity for civic engagement.
On November 8, no NBA games will take place as teams are being encouraged to share election information such as registration deadlines with their fan bases in the weeks leading up to Election Day.
The former tennis player – Martina Navratilova has won 18 major singles titles, 31 major women’s doubles titles, and 10 major mixed doubles titles. Her combined tally of Grand Slam titles is a whopping 59.
The 65-year-old won 1442 matches and lost 219 in singles competitions with a win percentage of 86.8. She won 167 career singles titles.
In the doubles circuit, she won 747 matches and lost 143 with a win percentage of 83.9. Navratilova won as many as 177 career doubles titles. She also won 15 mixed doubles titles.
