Tennis legend Martina Navratilova reacted to Kanye West being escorted out of Skechers headquarters.
American rapper, Kanye West, has landed in serious trouble owing to his antisemitic rants. Earlier this week, Adidas ended its historic partnership with West. They are not the only company to cut down ties with West after the incident as many companies have released official statements, ending their association with the 45-year-old.
He made a surprise visit to the Skechers headquarters which is owned by Jews. However, his stay was short-lived as he was escorted out of the premises by a couple of executives. Skechers also released a statement following the incident.
“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech,” the company said in a statement. “The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
The 18-time Grand Slam champion in singles, Navratilova, shared a tweet relating to the incident and wrote in the caption: “Dominoes… .”
Martina Navratilova reacts to Kanye West’s apology to the Jewish community
Kanye West issued an apology after hurting the sentiments of the Jews with his antisemitic comments earlier this month.
West issued the apology during an interview with Jewish podcast host Lex Fridman. He stated that he was sorry for hurting the sentiments of a race that he referred to as his ” brothers”.
“So before God, what I would do is start off, as a samurai, and say I’m sorry for hurting you as a Jewish person. I’m sorry for the way I made you feel. And I’m sorry for the entire population of a race that I feel is actually my brothers because I classify and feel that I’m also connected with Christ in that way,” said the rapper.
Navratilova took to Twitter and gave her opinion on the apology from Ye.
“He is so full of shit. I am surprised he can actually speak,” she wrote in her tweet.
