Carlos Alcaraz is set to be back in action at the Argentina Open tomorrow after an injury lay-off for three months – he recently named the ‘Messi’ of Tennis.
Carlos Alcaraz has referred to Roger Federer as the ‘Messi’ of Tennis. As he prepares to make a comeback to the ATP tour after a break of three months, Alcaraz gave a brief interview to the press ahead of his match tomorrow. Alcaraz will take the court at the Argentina Open as the World No. 2 and it is set to be his first professional tournament of the year.
“Yes, Federer is the Messi of tennis because of how easy he looks playing. Messi was the superhero in the World Cup and practically put himself in the entire country so that Argentina would consecrate itself in Qatar. I loved Federer’s tennis. I loved watching him play. I was watching his highlights all day, watching matches”, said the Spaniard. The teenager has grown up watching Federer play and it is no secret that he absolutely admires the Swiss maestro and tries to emulate his playing style. There are some similarities in how they play especially as they both like to attack and both have a deadly forehand.
Let us take a look at some of the reactions from fans on social media.
“Messi is Djokovic of football because he won it all like Nole”, wrote a fan.
“Obviously not. Federer is like Ronaldinho. Both are most talented and most loved. Also it’s always more fun to watch them. Messi is more than talent, he plays the game with his mind and control it that’s how he dominates. He also holds the most important records like guess who?”, tweeted another fan.
“If anything Messi is the Nadal of football, unproven in different leagues. Like Nadal being primarily successful on clay”, read a tweet.
“Novak is the CR7 of tennis. Always not getting credit he deserves”, tweeted another fan.
Another fan wrote: “The first thing that comes into anyone’s mind is SKILL.These guys are inhuman.”
