The couple have been together for 2018, despite announcing that they are taking a break in January this year.
Monfils, ranked 17 in the world, was knocked out in the second round of the Wimbledon Championships this year. His wife, Svitolina was also shocked in the same round losing to Magda Linette in straight sets.
They will look to get back to the court for the North American swing, which is the latter half of the ATP and WTA season.
Svitolina is representing Ukraine in both singles and doubles, with Monfils part of the France team for the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics begin on July 24th, with the tennis event beginning a day later.
Monfils and Svitolina rekindling their January split-up
The couple took to social media to announce that they will be taking a break from the relationship, to the fans’ shock. The joint statement said:
“The decision was incredibly difficult, because we still have love for each other. It’s just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”
Despite the shock news, the two eventually got back together. They said that the separation made them realise the love for each other.
The power couple are now officially man and wife, and every G.E.M.S fan will be nothing but delighted.
