Four-time Grand Slam winner has had a tough 2021 season but is looking cheerful now
Tennis sensation Naomi Osaka is back on the court after a lengthy break and is all set for the start of the new season. Meanwhile, the four-time Grand Slam winner was seen trying her hands at baseball in the new video posted by her on Twitter.
In the video, Osaka was seen striking the ball with a two-handed grip, which resembled her tennis backhand. She while posting the video captioned it: “something’s not right.”

Osaka was seen successfully timing the ball and her eye-hand coordination looked perfect thanks to her brilliant tennis ability. The former World No.1 was also seen donning the baseball helmet which looked adorable on her.
The 2021 year has not been a good one for the Japanese star as she was knocked out of the Olympics and US Open at the early stages. That forced her to take a break from the game as she also opened up about her mental health.
Naomi Osaka mental health issues
Osaka earlier this year opened up about her shocking decision to withdraw from the French Open to preserve her mental health. Osaka withdrew from Roland Garros after she was fined $15,000 because she decided to skip a press conference.
Later on, she was threatened by all the Grand Slam organisers that her action in future could lead to disqualification. She later revealed that she experienced anxiety before speaking to the media and she has suffered depression in the past.
“I communicated that I wanted to skip press conferences at Roland Garros to exercise self-care and preserve my mental health. I stand by that.”
“Athletes are humans. Tennis is our privileged profession, and of course there are commitments off the court that coincide. But I can’t imagine another profession where a consistent attendance record (I have missed one press conference in my seven years on tour) would be so harshly scrutinized.”
