Former World No.1 and four-time Grand Slam Champion Naomi Osaka has given birth to a baby daughter. Osaka and her rapper boyfriend Cordae have revealed to the world that their first child was born on July 10 in a Los Angeles hospital. Osaka’s boyfriend Cordae initially announced the news during his latest public show. The American rapper has also confirmed that both the mother and daughter are doing well. The couple have decided to name the child ‘Shai’.
Osaka had announced her pregnancy earlier this year in January. She subsequently took a break from professional Tennis to focus on her well-being. The Japanese star took a six-month-long break from Tennis in 2021-22 citing mental health issues and she will miss the whole of 2023 due to pregnancy. Osaka is just 25 and she plans to make a full-fledged comeback to professional Tennis in 2024.
Osaka has made it clear that she plans to return to tennis at the 2024 Australian Open. She also aims to win the gold medal for her country at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
