Netflix reportedly making a documentary covering the Novak Djokovic vaccine saga
Novak Djokovic’s vaccine saga has caught a lot of eyeballs over the past week. The world number one saw himself on the verge of deportation and receiving a three-year ban from the country of Australia before winning a legal battle with the Australian government.
As per recent reports, Netflix has already started to make a documentary covering all the happenings and behind the scenes of this situation. Interestingly, the documentary will produced by James Gay Rees who was behind Netflix’s successful show ‘Dare to survive’.
The expected timeline for the release of this documentary has not been revealed as of yet. Mainly because, the situation is still not clear and there are new developments on this case daily. The fans will certainly be excited to see what went on behind the scenes during this tough time for the Serbian.
While Djokovic still awaits clearance to play in the Australian Open, the French sports minister has already opened his doors to welcome him at the French Open. During an interview with ESPN, he said:
“He would not follow the same organisational arrangements as those who are vaccinated. But he will nonetheless be able to compete [at Roland Garros] because the protocols, the health bubble, allows it.”
The tournament is still roughly five months away and it has been made clear that they will allow all unvaccinated players to participate. This decision has caused a massive backlash as well. Because there are many restrictions for unvaccinated individuals in France and the rules seem to have been bent for athletes.
