In the pre-tournament Press Conference, 27-year-old Kyrgios revealed that he did not watch too much tennis when he was young. He spoke about playing in the Center Court and the legends that have achieved a lot before him while playing on the court.

“The first time I wasn’t the type of player to watch much tennis when I was really young. But the first time I stepped out on it was obviously when I played Rafa here in 2014 or 2015, I’m not sure. Obviously, I’ve good memories of that court. I’ve played on it again. Yeah, it’s an amazing court. Special energy about it. Obviously, when you walk out and think of all the past champions and the history of every kind of tennis player, their problems, their struggles to get to that moment. It’s a pretty special court. So many different personalities have stepped out there and achieved some amazing things.”

Nick Kyrgios was forced to give a walkover to Roberto Bautista Agut in the Round of 16 of the recently concluded Mallorca Open. This was due to an abdominal injury he suffered prior to the match. Bautista made it to the finals of the Mallorca Open where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas.
