Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios was all praise for Roger Federer
Tennis star Nick Kyrgios on Friday was all praise for former World No.1 Roger Federer and lauded the Swiss star’s influence on the game and how he has been the most influential player on the tour.
Kyrgios has never shied away from talking his mind out and on Friday he featured on No Boundaries and talked about Grigor’s inspiration from former World No.1 and why 20-time Grand Slam champion is the real GOAT.
“The most influential player to ever play is [Roger] Federer. Like people model their game. There’s guys like [Grigor] Dimitrov, who literally model their game. Get your own game.
“I love Grigor, but imitation is the worst form of flattery.”
Roger Federer is the real GOAT
It will be an understatement to say that Federer has transformed tennis over the last two decades. The Swiss sensation has been an inspiration to almost every youngster who wants to become a tennis professional.
The elegance in his play is second to none and the passion which comes up with that is something that can’t be matched. Yes, people might argue about Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic being better than him over the last 7-8 years – but the legacy which comes with Federer is just another thing.
The 40-year-old has won everything which is out there. From all four Grand Slams to every ATP title – he has in his kitty and despite being away from the game for quite a while now – the passion and hunger are still there to come out on the court and give it all just like old times.
