Andy Murray was on the top of his banter game on social media once again after Lionel Messi led Argentina to the World Cup title last night
Andy Murray couldn’t hold himself back from taking a dig at Piers Morgan after Lionel Messi secured a thrilling World Cup victory for Argentina against France in Qatar. Murray and Morgan indulged in banter throughout the World Cup with the tennis star taking a stand for Messi while the English journalist is known to be a huge fan of Ronaldo. However, Murray had the last laugh after Messi scored two goals and converted his spot kick during the tie-breaker to help Argentina lift the World Cup for the third time.
Piers Morgan is known to be a huge Ronaldo fan and criticises Messi at every opportunity. On the other hand, Murray is a big fan of the Argentine superstar. Messi led from the front yet again last night to help his nation seal the biggest prize in World football. After Argentina won, Murray tweeted, taking a dig at Morgan: “Not sure that @FIFAWorldCup could have gone any worse for you @piersmorgan.” Morgan responded: “not my best tournament.”
