The Adria Tour conducted by Novak Djokovic is scheduled to start this coming June in the Balkans
Novak Djokovic confirmed earlier this week that several big-name stars will be involved in the upcoming Adria Tour.
The tennis tournament set up by Djokovic is still in the process and is scheduled to be held in the Balkans next June. Most of the tennis stars in the world including Djokovic are still under self-isolation.
Djokovic confirmed the participation of a few big names during the press conference of the upcoming Adria Tour event.
World No.3 Dominic Thiem, ‘Next Gen’ star Alexander Zverev, and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov are some of the big names who have currently confirmed their participation.
Marin Cilic and Borna Coric were the final two names to be confirmed for the upcoming clay-court tournament that will be held between June 13 and July 5.
However, the matches would be conducted on different venues across the Balkans. As of now Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina remain the confirmed venues.
“I have had unlike many the opportunity to train”
Djokovic also joked that unlike many of his fellow counterparts he was lucky enough to train every day. However, he added that he chose to not disclose that information as it would have irked a few others.
“I have had unlike many the opportunity to train almost every day because I was in a house that has a court. But I have not published it on the networks so as not to cause the anger of some,” Djokovic joked during the press conference.
Despite the inactivity due to the coronavirus, Djokovic confirmed that he was on the right track.
“I have trained on hard ground and lately on clay. I feel good, I have been active. Of course, the intensity has been less because I do not know when the competitions will start. I am confident that they will also be motivated, we miss our work, enjoy the game.”
Meanwhile, the Adria Tour is being conducted primarily in order to raise funds for humanitarian projects in those regions that need the utmost care.
