Novak Djokovic lost to Holger June 6-3, 3-6, 5-7 in the final of the Paris Masters

Novak Djokovic took to Twitter to congratulate Holger Rune for an impressive Paris Masters title-winning campaign. Djokovic, who was seeded sixth in the tournament, just fell short of Rune in the final, despite winning the first set. The Serbian also thanked the Paris crowd on Twitter for their continuous support throughout the tournament.

Djokovic was stunned by Rune as the Danish player came back from a set down to win a thrilling encounter. Rune was playing in his fourth consecutive ATP Tour final and has now won 19 of his past 21 matches. The Dane’s title run in Paris will also lift him to a career-high No. 10 in the latest rankings.

It is the first time Djokovic has lost in 31 Masters 1000 finals when he has won the first set. Djokovic later took to social media to appreciate and congratulate the youngster.
