“Solidarity and recognition” – Novak Djokovic issues special message of thanks to medical professionals working tirelessly during coronavirus pandemic

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is currently undergoing self-quarantine but posted an update on Instagram

World No.1 Novak Djokovic issued his solidarity to the medical professionals helping people fight the coronavirus pandemic via Instagram.

The Serbian star joins a list of tennis stars who are currently staying at home in a bid to fight the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The new virus outbreak has left the world grappling in fear after it spread like wildfire crossing borders in no time.

Djokovic decided to show his support to the medical team and support staff who have been working tirelessly since the outbreak.

The 32-year-old took to Instagram by posting a video-story, wherein people including him could be seen applauding in masses recognising the efforts put in by the medical workers.

The video came with the caption:

“Solidarity and recognition for all the frontline medical people helping those in need. Thank you.” It also carried a hashtag ‘Thanks Health Heroes’.

Djokovic also displayed his support to medical professionals by separately posting a photo of them on Instagram.

In the photo, medical workers could be seen holding up signs in Serbian which when translated to English reads,

“Whoever stays indoors is a real hero who makes much less work for us all.”

The photo also came with a hashtag, “stayathome” – advising people to take the necessary precautions and guidelines very seriously.

Djokovic posts heartfelt message to fans

Djokovic also posted a long and heartfelt message to his millions of fans urging them to stay united and strong at these times of extreme crisis.

He posted a photo of himself along with his family with a caption:

“I pray for the health and healing of you. May God heal any sickness you have physical, mental or spiritual. May he give you health, energy and joy today.”

Attached alongside the photo, was his long and open letter to the public advising people to stay indoors.

“Very challenging times for everyone. I am sending support and prayers,” Djokovic wrote.

“Please stay at home in quarantine and help frontline medical people to help all the people infected and in need. Let’s not burden them in these critical times more than they already are,” he posted.

He also ended his note with a little positivity saying that the tough times would pass and that everyone will bounce back even stronger.

“We are all one. We all live in the same world. Please treat people and nature like you would treat yourself. God bless you all. We will be stronger and more united, I am sure.”

Djokovic is currently undergoing self-quarantine at his home in Serbia as part of the mandatory precautions required to control the spread of coronavirus.
