Novak Djokovic comes out in support of WTA for their stance on Peng Shuai
The number one ranked tennis star has voiced his opinions on the situation of Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai. Shuai was reported to be missing three weeks after she made sexual assault allegations against a top Chinese politician.
She came out publicly and voiced her allegations, however, Shuai lacked evidence to support her statement. But shortly after coming out with the allegations, Shuai was reported to be missing. Even though a video was surfaced on the internet which showed her attending a youth tennis event in China. The video lacks any kind of solid proof for her well being.

The WTA recently announced that they have serious doubts over the safety of the top Chinese tennis star. The organization also cancelled all the tournaments scheduled for China and Hong Kong in the wake of this situation. Many tennis stars and celebrities around the world have also raised their concerns over the same. Recently, Djokovic also backed the WTA and extended his support.
What did Novak Djokovic say?
Djokovic has recently come out in support of WTA’s stance on Shuai’s situation. The Serbian said (h/t Eurosport):
“I support fully the WTA’s stance because we don’t have enough information. I think the position of the WTA is very bold and very courageous. “
It is good to see that the tennis world has taken a note of what is happening and standing together for the safety of Shuai. Djokovic extended his support while speaking at the Davis Cup. Further reports on Shuai’s situation is yet to be awaited. The tennis world and the fans would hope to get clarity on her situation soon.
