Rafael Nadal returned to grasscourt action after three years and looked a tad uncomfortable in his first couple of matches at SW19. However, as the tournament progressed, the 22-time Grand Slam winner raised his game a few notches and was a strong contender to lift his third Grand Slam of the year until the injury forced him to pull out of the tournament ahead of his semifinal clash against Nick Kyrgios.

Nadal took to the practice courts for the first time in two weeks. He was spotted at his academy in Mallorca practicing a few forehands. Fans were thrilled to see the legendary player back on the court.

Nadal shared a picture with Colombian singer, Sebastian Yatra on his Instagram account. The picture has received 2,02,468 likes till now. Nadal wrote a caption in Spanish which translates to: “We made a pulse and Yatra destroyed me. It’s the truth and it had to be said. @sebastianyatra crack, super human force @sebastianyatra”

Apart from the Grand Slam wins, Nadal has also won the Melbourne Summer Set and the Mexican Open in 2022. The current world No. 3 has won the US Open on four occasions.

If Nadal can recover back to full fitness then he would be a real force to reckon with. Novak Djokovic’s participation at the US Open remains in doubt. If the Serbian is not allowed to compete at the event, Nadal could be well set to clinch his 23rd Grand Slam. Defending champion Daniil Medvedev is also a serious contender for the title. A rematch of the 2022 Australian Open final could be on the cards.
