French star Richard Gasquet has 19 ATP titles to his name along with the French Open Grand Slam title in Mixed Doubles
An old picture of 9-year-old Richard Gasquet featured on the cover of a French magazine has gone viral on the internet. This particular edition of the magazine dates back to 1996 and the headline reads: “Richard Gasquet, the champion that France is waiting for?” Gasquet has gone on to become one of the most recognised flag-bearers of French Tennis, justifying the expectations that the media and the fans had put on him from such a young age.
Gasquet, now 36, is still active on the professional circuit, continuing an illustrious career that spans over two decades. The Frenchman is ranked World No. 43 in men’s singles and recently won the ASB Classic tournament in Auckland. The former World No.7 has had a career to remember, establishing a legacy of his own in the history of the sport. Gasquet has won 19 ATP titles till date along with a Grand Slam title in Mixed Doubles besides registering more than 800 match wins in various categories on the professional tour.
