The Fifa World Cup has reached its business end and the football fever is running wild worldwide. Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud were in no mood to be left behind.
Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud embarked on an exhibition tennis tour to South America towards the end of last month. They played a series of exhibition matches in six countries in ten days and received great responses from the fans, whenever they stepped on the court.
The Fifa World Cup is currently ongoing and Spain is among the 16 teams that have made it to the pre-quarterfinals. Nadal’s love for football is not new to his fans. He has often been spotted showing off his intricate footy skills with tennis balls. In a latest video that has gone viral on the internet, Nadal and Ruud are seen enjoying their time during the exhibition tour, displaying their skills with a small-sized football. They had set up a table in between them and played a modified version of table tennis and fans loved the duo enjoying their time together.
Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud recently played each other in the ATP Finals. In a dead rubber, Nadal defeated Ruud in straight sets.
The former world No. 1 ended his South American exhibition tour with a win against Ruud in straight sets 7-6, 6-4. The match was played in Mexico City’s Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico, in front of 40,000 fans.
Nadal and Ruud faced each other on five occasions during the tour. The experienced campaigner won on four occasions while the 2022 US Open runner-up had only one win to his name.
