Rafael Nadal witnessed his favourite club Real Madrid lift the champions league trophy – a night before his match against Felix Auger-Aliassime
A night ahead of his fourth-round match at Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal made sure he was at Stade de France to root for Real Madrid who went on to win the UCL final, beating Liverpool 1-0. Nadal has been a lifelong supporter of the club, supporting them since childhood. The Spaniard is also an honorary member of the club.
Rafael Nadal, whose love for Real Madrid is well-documented, was spotted at the Stade de France as he was dressed in a grey suit and pants as he waved to the fans at the iconic venue. Nadal had discussed the possibility of him going to the Champions League final after his 3rd-round win over Botic Van De Zandschulp of the Netherlands on Friday.
Nadal is presently playing against 9th seed Felix Auguer-Alissiame in the fourth round as he chases a record 14th French Open title. The ‘King of Clay’ has been spotless at the Roland Garros so far, reaching the second week without dropping a set. However, in this tricky encounter, Nadal is up against his uncle, Toni who coached him to glory from his childhood. Toni has been working with Augur-Alisiamme in the recent past.
It certainly takes a lot to attend a football game ahead of an all important Grand Slam match. But, evidently, Rafael Nadal breathes loyalty for his childhood club. Fans on social media certainly loved Nadal’s dedication for his club.
An over-whelmed Real Madrid fan tweeted, ‘He’s so meeeeee .. Last night he was there for REAL MADRID while he was schedule to play his next match tomorrow.”
“He seemed more concerned about the match last night than his game today. GOAT Player GOAT Fan”, wrote another fan.
Another fan tweeted, “Just like the emperor sitting on its throne in his Kingdom of Paris. @RafaelNadal.”
“Champions acknowledge champions”, a user summed it up beautifully.
