Rafael Nadal has broken his silence on Novak Djokovic being deported from Australia over vaccine troubles
Rafael Nadal has recently opened up on his thoughts regarding Novak Djokovic being deported from Australia.
The Serbian had his visa cancelled and was also denied entry into Australian ahead of Australian Open 2022.
The controversy has had a really bad look for the world no.1 in many ways.
Moreover, Nadal has made it known that he is ‘quite tired’ of the subject already. The Spaniard has also made it known that he’ll always abide by what justice has to say.
“By the way, I’m quite tired of that subject. When he won the first trial I said here that the justice had spoken. Yesterday the decision was different. I will never be against what the justice says. What I believe it would be better for the sport would be having all the best players here, including Djokovic. Another thing is what happened. I think the situation is very clear now.” [Jose Morgado Twitter]
Rafael Nadal eased past the first of Australian Open
Rafael Nadal kicked off the 2022 Australian Open campaign with a dominant victory over Marcos Giron. Nadal beat Giron over three sets, 1-6, 4-6 and 2-6.
With this win, Nadal has also made his way to the next round. The Spaniard will now take on the German Yannick Hanfmann in the second round of the tournament.
With the absence of Djokovic and also Roger Federer from the tournament, Nadal is certainly the front runner to capture to title. It will also be interesting to see how far Nadal goes in the tournament.
