Rafael Nadal highlighted the safety of his academy
World No.2 Rafael Nadal has invited people from across the globe to visit his academy in Mallorca.
The Spaniard assured that everyone would be offered the utmost care with the best safety protocols in play.
Nadal made the invitation via a video on YouTube recently with his country Spain now slowly recovering from the coronavirus crisis.
Nadal, who hails from Mallorca begins the video with the statement,
“Mallorca is a unique and special island. For me, one of the most incredible places in the world.
“I invite you all to discover this beautiful island and do sports in a safe way. We have a great team that will be dedicated to taking care of your well-being,” the Spaniard added.
Nadal’s academy – the Rafa Nadal Academy – has been gathering more than 2,000 children and 700 adults who come to Mallorca to play sports in cutting-edge facilities while also enjoying a unique destination since 2017.
Meanwhile, Nadal’s academy has already set a benchmark for itself in the world during the extreme coronavirus outbreak in Spain.
The academy managed to guarantee the well-being of more than 80 players.
With the de-escalation process now in function in Spain, the academy is already implementing the new protocols in order to ensure the safety of Spanish and foreign fans in the coming months.
However, there is no surety when tennis action will return. The ATP and WTA have cancelled matches till July, and it will be interesting to see when the circuit resumes.
Novak Djokovic won the Australian Open. However, Wimbledon 2020 has been cancelled while the French Open has been postponed.
