Rafael Nadal had spent his time during coronavirus quarantine at his home in Mallorca
Rafael Nadal shared his hobbies while undergoing self-quarantine at his home in Mallorca, Spain recently.
The 19-time Grand Slam winner was answering to the questions posed by French fans, with the Roland Garros set to start in September this year.
The French Open which normally occurs during May had earlier been postponed to September due to the outbreak of the coronavirus crisis.
Nadal highlighted that he had picked up cooking and watched a lot of shows while spending his time under quarantine.
“What I have done the most is stay at home. It is clear that I have been following all the news. I have seen television series, I have been distracted cooking, learning a few things and exercising almost every day,” Nadal said.
Nadal also opined that he was happy with the current situation, with Spain having eased the lockdown in many parts of the country.
However, he added that the lockdown period was a tough phase for him but one which he would never complain about as he and his family were in a good situation.
Meanwhile, Nadal, who confirmed his participation in the upcoming Roland Garros competition this year revealed that he was not thinking about it much.
“I don’t think about Roland Garros, the situation has been too difficult to think about where I would be if … We are in the midst of a crisis, in an alarm situation.
“I try not to think where I would be if this had not happened. I try to be positive and accept things as they are and live with them,” he explained.
The 34-year-old Nadal also added that he was not young as he used to be and he would not be very happy about missing tennis for almost a year.
“If we can’t play in some tournaments for a year, it’s going to be hard because I’m not 21 anymore and I wouldn’t be very happy to miss almost a year of tennis. But it’s part of life and what really matters is the amount of lives that have been lost,” said the 12-time French Open champion.
Nadal concluded by saying that the most important thing in life at the moment was to recover from the coronavirus and enjoy the little moments in life.
