The historic Laver Cup tournament is set to take place next week from 23-25 September in London
John McEnroe’s Team World will is set to challenge Bjorn Borg’s Team Europe in the 2022 Laver Cup which will be held at the O2 Arena in London. The complete lineups are out now including the captain, vice-captain and the alternate players. Team World looks immensely strong with all the top players of the circuit present in the squad while Team World comprises challengers and potential next-generation stars.
Team Europe, the winner of all previous four editions, features the ‘Big Four’ – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray – with Norway’s Casper Ruud and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas being the other members. Italy’s Matteo Berrettini has been named as the alternate player in the squad.
Team World comprises a host of promising youngsters including Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada), Taylor Fritz (USA), Diego Schwartzman (Argentina), Alex de Minaur (Australia), John Isner (USA) and Jack Sock (USA). Tommy Paul has been named as the alternate player in their squad.
