Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will team up to take on Team World’s Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe
Roger Federer had earlier ruled out the possibility of playing singles at the Laver Cup, owing to his recurring injury. Now, he confirms on social media that he will be partnering Rafael Nadal for the doubles match. The Swiss maestro has undergone several knee surgeries in recent years and it’s the same recurring problem that’s preventing Federer from playing Singles.
Besides confirming that he will only be playing Doubles, Federer had earlier also hinted that he could potentially partner Rafael Nadal for the game. Federer said it would be ‘special’ to play alongside his great friend and rival, Nadal in the final match of his career.
As things stand, Federer’s wish is getting fulfilled and promises to be a spectacle as the Tennis World prepares to bid goodbye to the all-time great.
