Swiss genius Roger Federer is at his home in native Switzerland undergoing self-isolation
Roger Federer is a busy man despite the coronavirus pandemic restricting many including the Swiss star to his home in native Switzerland.
There is no denying that Federer is one of the most talented tennis players the game has ever witnessed. However, talent alone does not take you to heights, something that the Swiss genius has proved himself.
Despite turning 38, Federer is still one of the most competitive players in the circuit. And some of it has to do with rigorous hard work and training.
This was even more evident when the Swiss star posted a video of himself trying out some shots.
“Making sure I still remember how to hit trick shots #TennisAtHome”, read Federer’s caption alongside his video.
In the vide, Federer could be seen making the best of his free time by executing trick shots against a wall in the snow.
Meanwhile, the Swiss maestro seemed to be making good progress after his surgery and seemed to be in good shape.
Federer had earlier in February undergone a right-knee surgery after sustaining an injury at the Australian Open.
He had put up a public statement on Twitter and revealed that he won’t be making a comeback until June and was looking forward to the grass-court season.
Federer also mentioned that he would be missing the Dubai Open, Indian Wells and the French Open as part of his recovery.
“My right knee has been bothering me for a little while. I hoped it would go away, but after an examination and discussion with my team, I decided to have arthroscopic surgery in Switzerland yesterday,” Federer shared on social media.
Meanwhile, with the COVID-19 virus spreading, his expected return for the grass-court season seems like a distant dream as of now.
Federer, however, can now compete in the French Open with the tournament organisers postponing the event to September this year. His plans for Wimbledon this year looks most unlikely with the event set to be cancelled.
