Tennis legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal is set to return to Team Europe for the 2022 Laver Cup

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are set to reunite For Team Europe at Laver Cup 2022 in London later this year. The tournament organisers made the announcement in a a press release on Thursday, confirming the participation of the legendary pair.

“Tennis superstars Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have confirmed they will be teaming up later this year for the fifth edition of the Laver Cup, to be held at The O2 in London from September 23-25, 2022,” Laver Cup announced on Thursday.

Federer, who has been out since Wimbledon last year, will be hoping to return soon to the Tour. “I’m really looking forward to getting back into competition later this year and Laver Cup is very much part of my plan. It’s no secret that I love the event and I’m super excited to be returning to The O2 and to London, one of the greatest cities in the world,” said 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer. (h/t Scroll)

Nadal, however, will be looking to use his Australian Open victory as motivation to win more titles in 2022. The Spaniard looks to be at his best overcoming all odds in Melbourne. Team Europe has won all editions of the Laver Cup against Team World.

The Laver Cup will be from September 23 to 25 at the O2 Arena, which hosted the ATP Finals up till 2020. Captain Bjorn Borg will have a selection dilemma with a star-studded lineup. With Federer in the field, it could well be his last season on Tour. Nadal, on the other hand, has more to offer before he calls it a day.
