Roger Federer is one of the most followed sports personalities on the planet
Swiss genius Roger Federer revealed what his family calls him in a throwback video conducted by Vogue last year.
A winner of 20 Grand Slam titles, Federer is one of the most loved and followed sports personalities on the planet.
A former World No.1 Federer has won almost everything that the sport has to offer.
Meanwhile, in the interview the Swiss maestro revealed the nicknames that he has at home.
“Yeah, they call me Rog and in Swiss German, Roch-ee,” said the eight-time Wimbledon champion with a smile.
However, it was not just the titles but his effortlessness and efficient shot-making skills that also won him, numerous admirers, since his days as a professional back in 1998.
The Swiss genius also opened up about his love for chocolates in the throwback interview. The interviewer, who seemed in no mood to leave Federer alone had another question for the tennis legend.
When asked what was the most Swiss thing about him, Federer was of the opinion that maybe his love for chocolates made him so – also giving the public a fair idea that he has a sweet tooth.
“Hey, what’s the most Swiss thing about you?”, the interviewer asked. To which Federer replied: “That I’m a chocoholic. Is that something?”.
Federer also added that he spoke a few other languages than his native Swiss German. According to the Swiss genius, he can fluently speak languages such as German, English and French.
He then mentioned a few of his favourite words from those languages.
He said that he liked ‘allez’ in French, ‘come on’ in English and ‘chum jetze’ in Swiss-German. Federer jokingly added that these were his most preferred words but they were restricted only to the courts.
