Roger Federer spotted playing tennis for the first time since emotional retirement at Laver Cup

The 41-year-old Roger Federer retired from the Laver Cup after a chronic knee injury forced him to miss a lot of action over the past few years.

Roger Federer’s retirement has certainly left a huge void in the game and fans still can’t come to terms with the fact that the Swiss superhero won’t be seen bamboozling his opponents on the tour anymore. The 20-time Grand Slam champion has been synonymous with greatness during the course of a career that lasted over a couple of decades.

Fans got a glimpse of the former world No. 1 playing tennis at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in New York, thanks to a video that has gone viral on the internet. The 14-second video features the legendary player hitting some of his mesmerizing strokes.

Federer wrote in his retirement post that he will not be playing professional tennis. However, he did not rule out playing at exhibition events. Fans will be happy to see the stalwart playing once again, irrespective of the stature of the tournament.

Roger Federer was welcomed at the Rolex headquarters in Geneva. The popular Swiss watch brand celebrated the illustrious career of the legend.
