Roger Federer is set to auction off some incredible Grand Slam memorabilia
Roger Federer is going to auction two memorabilia this summer. The auction will be fetching economic resources to support the Roger Federer Foundation to deliver resources to children in Africa and Switzerland.
London-based auction house Christie’s will be the host of this philanthropic event. The auction company took to Twitter to break the news to the public.
“We are honoured to present two unique sales comprising Roger Federer’s personal sporting memorabilia sold to benefit the Roger Federer Foundation who help deliver educational resources to children in Africa and Switzerland”
The official tweet from the Roger Federer Foundation thanked the auction house for the opportunity.
“We are so grateful to Christie’s for this unique opportunity to raise funds for our educational programmes. Hopefully, it’ll be a great success.”
Roger Federer puts his belongings to auction
The Swiss maestro is one of the greatest icons in the field of tennis. The two-decade-long journey is full of events that line up as milestones in his career. Being the pioneer of the game, his memorabilia is expected to draw enough funds for the noble cause he is working for.
The famous racket from the Wimbledon clash with Rafael Nadal back in 2007 is one of the items up for the auction. While the other one is the pair of shoes he wore in the Roland Garros victory back in 2009. The two most iconic possessions speak volumes of his journey.
