Roland Garros’s 2023 poster was recently released – the poster which featured a female gazing at a number of Tennis balls drew a lukewarm reaction

The official poster of the 2023 French Open is now out. It has been designed by young French artist Maxime Verdier. The poster is unique in its own way and is the first one to be drawn entirely in coloured pencil. The poster represents the tournament’s reach and by giving pride of place to the new Court Philippe-Chatrier, bathed in a halo of light under a night sky sprinkled with tennis ball stars.

The poster was revealed by Roland Garros’ official handle on Twitter. The design is open to various interpretations and imaginations of the viewers. “From the young girl dreaming of Roland-Garros from the clay court where she trains with her club, to the tournament player dreaming of holding aloft the Suzanne-Lenglen Cup and the junior competitor fantasising about playing on Court Philippe-Chatrier, everyone can relate to this poster”, says the creator, Maxime Verdier.
