The Novak Djokovic Foundation is doing a lot to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in Serbia
World No.1 Novak Djokovic might be under lockdown with his family, but his foundation is doing a lot of work to fight Covid-19 in Serbia.
The Serbian had a great start to the season by winning the Australian Open. However, all tennis has been postponed till July at least. Wimbledon has been cancelled while the French Open has been postponed too.
The coronavirus pandemic has hit several countries hard but Djokovic is doing a lot for Serbia. A release from the Novak Djokovic Foundation highlighted all that is being done in the country.
The release added that the delivery of medical equipment has started with the first batch containing four ventilators and 20 patient monitoring devices.
This was donated to the Clinical Centre in Kragujevac. Also, further plans confirmed the delivery of a CT Scan with all accessories and four non-invasive ventilation devices with a large number of kits, will be distributed to the Pulmonology Clinic of the Clinical Centre of Serbia and the Belgrade Clinic for Infectious Diseases.
Further, two ventilators will also be donated to the Clinical Centre in Kosovska Mitrovica.
More help on the way
Jelena Djokovic, the wife of Novak and the CEO of the foundation, also thanked the healthcare workers for all the work done.
She added that more help would be coming their way as the foundation aims to get the best equipment available.
The release adds that the next shipments of equipment will feature a lot of help for the hospitals.
10 ventilators, x-ray devices, vital sign monitors, special shoes and other equipment will be donated to several institutions as the country fights Covid-19.
Djokovic has participated in several Instagram sessions in recent days. That has kept the fans going with some form of tennis news, and hopefully, action can return from the stipulated month soon.
