World No.6 Stefanos Tsitsipas is currently the youngest player inside the top-ten ATP rankings
Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas claimed that playing in Davis Cup with the national team was phenomenal due to several reasons.
Tsitsipas is the current World No.6 and is the youngest player to be ranked inside the top-ten category according to the ATP rankings.
Tsitsipas is also a member of the famed ‘Next Gen’ stars that also includes German Alexander Zverev and Russian Daniil Medvedev.
Tsitsipas is currently in Manila for his national side Greece’s Davis Cup tie against the Philippines. The Greek star was in conversation with the media and was speaking on a wide range of topics:
“Davis Cup is an event that’s been on my bucket list to play and I’m looking forward to playing this rubber and trying to represent Greece as best as possible,” said Tsitsipas.
“I’m really committed to play for the country. I’ve been playing individually all my life and I really miss the team spirit and playing for the team and not just for myself. It kind of sort of give something extra out there, especially the memories that I get to share with my teammates.”
“It’s just phenomenal to be able to share with someone else and not just myself,” Tsitsipas concluded.
Young Tsitsipas must be entering the Davis Cup with a lot of confidence after a stellar show in the recently concluded Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship.
He reached the finals of the ATP 500 event but missed out on the title after losing to Novak Djokovic.
