The World No. 4 has not been able to replicate his ATP Masters success in Grand Slam tournaments. He rectifies that when he steps onto the court at Flushing Meadows hoping to win his first major title. The talented Spaniard opens his US Open campaign against Argentine Sebastian Baez on August 30. Alcaraz and Baez faced each other at the 2021 ATP Next Gen Finals where the latter got the win.
Alcaraz played in the recently concluded Cincinnati Masters. He reached the quarter-final stage of the competition by defeating Mackenzie McDonald and Marin Cilic before suffering a loss against Cameron Norrie in a closely contested affair.
