Tennis icon Serena Williams is set to end her 27-year long professional career at US Open 2022
Serena Williams recently announced that she will retire after the ongoing US Open tennis tournament. This shocked many fans worldwide, and ticket sales skyrocketed as fans queued up to witness her play one last time. The former world #1 is well past her prime and is now ranked outside the top 600.
However, that didn’t stop her from beating world #2 ranked Anett Kontaveit in the second round. She turned the clock back to win 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-2, and move into the third round. Some revelations about her longevity haves gone viral on social media.
Serena won her first US Open match in 1998. NBA legend Tim Duncan was a sophomore, playing for the San Antonio Spurs. And the coach Gregg Popovich did not even break into the top #100 winnings coaches list. Now he is the winnings coach.
