The World No. 9 Cameron Norrie will face Holger Rune in the third round of the 2022 US Open on Saturday in what promises to be an intriguing match.

The 7th seed has already won two titles this season. He won his first title at the Delray Beach Open before adding another at the Lyon Open. He also made his first-ever Grand Slam semifinal appearance at Wimbledon this year.
Norrie has won both of his matches at this year’s US Open in straight sets. He outclassed France’s Benoit Paire 6-0, 7-6, 6-0 in the first match before defeating the experienced Joao Sousa 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in the second round.
Holger Rune
The 19-year-old bagged his first ATP Tour title at the Bavarian Internation Tennis Championships earlier in the year. He hasn’t won too many matches but reaching the third round of a Grand Slam event for the first time should do a lot of good to the youngster who turned pro in 2020.
Rune began his US Open campaign with a win in straight sets against Germany’s Peter Gojowczyk 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 ( 7-5). In the second round, Rune was set to face John Isner, but the veteran had to pull out of the tournament owing to a fractured wrist.
Head-to-Head and Prediction
Cameron Norrie leads the head-to-head 2-0. They faced each other recently at the Western & Southern Open where Rune made the 27-year-old work hard for the win.
Prediction: Cameron Norrie to win in four sets.
