Carlos Alcaraz has progressed to the third round of the Indian Wells Masters after registering a 6-3, 6-3 victory
Carlos Alcaraz never fails to win the hearts of his fans and he has done it once again at the Indian Wells Masters. In a video clip shared on social media, Alcaraz can be seen obliging with the requests of his fans after his practice session. The Spaniard noticed a little girl amidst the crowd who was waiting patiently for his signature and specially called her near to give her a signed tennis ball. The sweet gesture has gone viral on social media and it’s needless to say that everyone absolutely loves it.
The footage was first shared by Tennis TV on Twitter and Alcaraz himself re-shared it. The Spaniard has progressed to the second round of the Indian Wells Masters after registering a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win over Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round. The No.1 seed is now scheduled to face Tallon Griekspoor in the Round of 32 tomorrow.
Carlos Alcaraz has made a strong comeback from injury
Carlos Alcaraz had pulled out from the ATP 500 Acapulco Open last week. The Spaniard aggravated his injury on the right leg during his run to the final at the Rio Open in February. Alcaraz finished runners-up in Rio, losing the final to Cameron Norrie 7-5, 4-6, 5-7. However, he sustained a niggle in the process on his injured right leg and had to pull out of the tournament in Mexico.
Alcaraz’s season has been marred by injuries so far. He made a comeback on the ATP tour at the Argentina Open in February after a long injury lay-off spanning over three months but he had been in sublime touch ever since he took the court in Argentina. He clinched the title in Argentina and finished runners-up in Rio and looked all set to do well in Mexico, before he pulled out of the tournament. The World No.2 will now look to brush aside the struggles and continue his good run in California.
