Dmitry Tursunov has worked with the likes of Anett Kontaveit and Aryna Sabalenka in the past. Now he has joined forces with Emma Raducanu and will hope to turn the fortunes in favor of the talented youngster.

Emma Raducanu would be the first one to admit that her performances have not been up to the mark since her miraculous 2021 US Open triumph. She has not been able to win a title for almost a year. As far as Grand Slams are concerned, Raducanu has not progressed beyond the second round after her triumphant campaign at Flushing Meadows.

Can Dmitry Tursunov get the Bromley-based star back on track ahead of her US Open title defense? Only time will tell. However, we can expect some new tricks in Raducanu’s arsenal as his coach loved innovation during his playing days. During the mixed doubles final of the Hopman Cup, Tursunov bamboozled his opponents with a reverse serve. The ball didn’t go in the direction as expected. Instead of going towards the backhand side, the ball bounced and took the opposite route.

The World No. 10 got the chance to play alongside Kate Middleton and also received a letter from the Queen after winning last year’s US Open competition.

The Bromley-based tennis star has now revealed that she was starstruck when she met the Duchess of Cambridge. The incident happened after Raducanu arrived back in England after winning the US Open. She and other winners from England at the competition – Joe Salisbury and Alfie Hewitt, appeared in an LTA homecoming special. The three players were joined by Kate Middleton for a few hits.

Raducanu explained the experience in an interview for the Evening Standard: “I’ve met some really cool people, but when I met the duchess I was definitely [starstruck]. I could stare at her all day. Just watch her talk, watch her do everything.”
