“Right now, I wish to see my whole family, my friends. Make a party, go to the sea, swim a little bit, to have the feeling of freedom. To be able to hug someone else, I’m very affectionate so when this is over there’s going to be a deadlock,” Nadal revealed.

Despite the quarantine restricting many top stars including him from competing, he trusted that once a solution would be found, everything will go back to normalcy.

“To how we behaved before versus to how we now have to behave in order to find a solution. But I believe that even if things have to change, I trust that once there’s a solution, things will be back to familiar,” he said

“I can’t conceive a future without being able to hug someone from the circuit whom I haven’t seen for months. I trust that this will be fixed. Until then we must be responsible and cautious, and I believe that difficult times are coming.”

Nadal also spoke in length about his academy in Mallorca, and his commitment towards it. Spain was one of the worst-hit countries by the pandemic coronavirus and has been under lockdown since March 14.

“I’m not in that mindset where I want to compete”

The 33-year-old Spaniard, who had earlier supported the idea of playing behind closed doors, recently admitted that he was not in a mindset to compete.

“Right now, I want to go training, do I want to compete? Yes, but to some degree, I’ve internalized the issue and since I don’t see a quick solution, I’m not in that mindset where I want to compete,” Nadal explained.

He concluded by saying that things were not the same anymore and that it would take him a long time to compete again.
