Viral video captures tennis star Daniil Medvedev showcasing his football skills amidst practice sessions
A video shared on Twitter, where Daniil Medvedev can be seen juggling a tennis ball with his feet has gone viral in no time. Medvedev can be seen showcasing his footy skills during a practice session on hard courts. The Russian ace missed the ongoing Wimbledon tournament after the All England Club barred Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the event.
Interestingly, German football giants, FC Bayern Munich’s official Twitter handle (English) seemed pretty impressed by the Russian’s skills. “We see you, @DaniilMedwed! 👏” – they joked, in a reply to to the original tweet.
It is understandable from the video that Medvedev has already started practicing on hard courts for the upcoming events. Unfortunately, his grass-court season has come to an end after not being allowed to participate in Wimbledon.
Wimbledon authorities have barred Russian and Belarusian players from playing in the tournament this year as a response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Belarus’ direct support of the war. Wimbledon has become the first tennis event to restrict individual Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing. In response, ATP and WTA have stripped the historic event of ranking points.
