Jamie, elder brother of former World No.1 Andy Murray is gearing up for the upcoming Battle of the Brits tournament
Seven-time Grand Slam doubles winner Jamie Murray had to go through an uncomfortable Covid-19 test ahead of Battle of the Brits tournament.
Jamie, the elder brother of former World No.1 Andy is gearing up for the behind closed doors Battle of the Brits tournament, which will take place at the National Tennis Centre from June 23-28.
However, Jamie had to undergo a Covid-19 test to ensure that he was good to go for the upcoming event. The video of Jamie going through an unpleasant testing procedure was uploaded by the official Twitter page of the ‘Schroders Battle of The Brits’.
They had even posted the video with a warning that read: “Don’t watch if you’re squeamish! 🩺 @jamie_murray gets tested for COVID-19, behind the scenes at the #battleofthebrits 🇬🇧🎾”, in case people found it uncomfortable.

“I am looking to finish third in my group”
Andy, who is making a comeback to tennis via the Battle of the Brits, admitted that he was planning to finish third in his group. Andy has been out of action since November 2019 due to a hip injury.
The former World No.1 is teamed up with Kyle Edmund, James Ward, and Liam Broady in Tim Henman Group.
“I am looking to finish third in my group. I would be happy with that result,” Andy said while in conversation with his brother Jamie in a video uploaded by Schroders Battle of The Brits twitter page.
British No.1 Dan Evans will also be present and joins Cam Norrie, Jack Draper, and Jay Clarke in Greg Rusedski Group.
Andy also picked his favourites for the event suggesting that Evans and Norrie had the best chance of winning as they were in good shape.

“I am happy with my draw. I wanted to avoid Cam (Cameron Norrie) and Evans” said the former World No.1. “They are definite favourites, they are in good shape”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Battle of the Brits is an exhibition tournament organised by Jamie Murray to help raise money for NHS charities.
