The Italian tennis pro crashed out of the tournament following a loss to Pablo Andujar in a three-set thriller. The Spaniard won the first set before Lorenzo came back strongly by bagging the second set. The match was decided in the tiebreaker of the third set as Andujar won 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).

Sonego didn’t play a bad game but it just wasn’t his day. His serves were on point as he sent across 8 aces. The 27-year-old cut a frustrated figure as he threw his racket on the ground and as it bounced up, he hit a perfect side volley. We should not forget the fact that Sonego hails from a country that has won four Fifa World Cups.

The video of the incident is attached below:

Who is the next opponent for Pablo Andujar?

Pablo Andujar progressed to the Round of 16 and he will square off against Austrian youngster Filip Misolic on July 27.

Filip Misolic is 20 years old and ranked 205 as of now. He defeated Brazilian Daniel Dutra da Silva in the first round in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (8-6).

This will be the first meeting between Pablo Andujar and Filip Misolic. The former would be heading into the match as the overwhelming favorite. However, Misolic would hope to feed off the home support to pull off an upset.

The 36-year-old veteran would be looking forward to bagging his fifth title by crossing four hurdles in the competition.
