With the French Open coming to an end, we take a look at how the latest ATP and WTA rankings shape up following the tournament

There were several surprising results in the recently concluded Roland Garros. The upsets and the shock exits did affect the ATP and WTA rankings. Here’s how the latest rankings look after the results in Paris.

Major changes in the ATP rankings

Rafael Nadal overcame Casper Ruud to capture his 14th Roland Garros title and a record-extending 22nd Grand Slam trophy last week in Paris. Following the final, the Spaniard and the Norwegian have both moved up in the ATP Rankings on 6 June.

Nadal has climbed one spot to No.4 while 23-year-old Ruud has jumped to a career-high No.6 after he became the first Norwegian man to reach the final at a Grand Slam.

Roland Garros semi-finalist, Marin Cilic has climbed up six spots and jumped back inside the Top 20, following his standout run in Paris. Holger Rune made a jump of 12 spots to reach a career-high ranking of No.28 after becoming the first Danish man to advance to the quarter-finals at a Grand Slam in the Open Era.

Major changes in the WTA rankings

World number one Iga Świątek continued her dominant reign after winning her second Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros. The 21-year-old has a tremendous points lead in the top spot — sitting way out in front with more than 4,000 points between her and second place.

Coco Gauff has made a massive jump of 10 spots and attained a ranking of World No.13 after a dream run, reaching her first-ever Grand Slam final.

A new world number two has been established in Anett Kontaveit. After inching three places up the table, the Estonian has recorded her best ranking position. Despite the fact she was eliminated from the French Open in the first round, other players ahead of her dropping points have helped nudge her further up the rankings.

The biggest move from the WTA rankings update sees Martina Trevisan shoot up an impressive 32 places. The Italian has leaped into 25th place, overtaking the likes of Elina Svitolina and Naomi Osaka.
