Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard is currently preparing for the upcoming WTA season – what went wrong on New Year’s day?

The Canadian tennis star suffered from food poisoning on New Year’s Day and to make it worse it happened when she was participating in a professional tournament. Bouchard was playing at the ASB classic but had to withdraw from the second round of qualifying due to her health issues.
“Happy New Year everyone! I spent the first 8 hours of 2023 clinging to a toilet for dear life (food poisoning). Hope the start of your year was better than mine”, Bouchard joked on Twitter. Before food poisoning hit her, Bouchard showed class and secured a convincing 6-4 , 6-3 victory against Li of the U.S.A at the ASB classic tournament.
