Seventh seed Daria Snigur will face Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson in the round of 16 of the Andorra Open on Wednesday.

After finishing runner-up at Petange a couple of days ago, the 20-year-old managed to pick up a convincing win against Spanish wildcard Georgina Garcia Perez in her opening encounter at the WTA Andorra Open.

Snigur played an almost-perfect game to outclass the experienced Spaniard in quick time. The Ukrainian youngster had a win percentage of 77 on the first serve and it went up to 83 on the second serve. The world No. 146 is one of the favorites to go the distance in Andorra and her recent form will also hold her in good stead.

The 27-year-old also came into the tournament after finishing runner-up in her previous assignment in an ITF event in Meitar.

Peterson is one win away from reaching her sixth quarterfinal. In the round of 32, the world No. 88 defeated Arantxa Rus in two competitive sets. Peterson won 77 points compared to 69 for the Dutchwoman. Peterson had a win percentage of 73 on the first serve and committed 3 double faults. She will surely hope to use her experience to get the better of the talented Snigur.
