The Spaniard played some mesmerizing tennis en route to making the semi-finals of Wimbledon and was a strong contender to claim his 3rd Grand Slam title of the year. However, a 7mm abdominal tear forced him to pull out of the tournament which was eventually won by Novak Djokovic for the fourth consecutive time.

Injuries have been a real hurdle in the path of the stalwart. The 36-year-old Nadal played with a chronic foot injury during the French Open and used to take pain killer injections to get through his matches.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion is currently enjoying his time in Formentera, Spain. Nadal boarded a huge luxurious yacht and then took a friend on the back seat of a jet ski and hit the waves.

Rafael Nadal will be hoping to get ready before the US Open Grand Slam which begins on August 29. Meanwhile, Nadal and his wife are expecting their first child.
