Novak Djokovic is officially out of Canada Masters in Montreal
Novak Djokovic won the Canada Open on four previous occasions. However, he will not be seen in this year’s tournament allowed entry into Canada this year due to his unvaccinated status.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion has withdrawn from the competition, one day prior to the draw. He is still training in Montenegro in the hope of being allowed to play in the upcoming US Open Grand Slam.
Unless a miracle happens, Djokovic will miss his second Grand Slam due to being unvaccinated. Djokovic has won the US Open on three previous occasions – 2011, 2015, and 2018. He lost in the final last year to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets.
